Thanks SusHacks VIIT, for a fantastic event!

Thrilled to announce that Caffeinated Coders (that's us!) snagged 3rd place at SUS Hacks! Our project, Help Coin, is a tech-focused Webapp aimed at integrating Humanity and Economy in same place. Valuable lessons from SusHacks VIIT

On April 27th, alongside my talented teammates Anusha Adhina and Keerthana Gopi, our DevOrbit team delved into the exhilarating realm Sushacks VIIT. While our project, developed with the dynamic MERN stack, didn't clinch price, the lessons learned and bonds forged were truly priceless. Our mission was clear: address the disconnect between skilled individuals eager to teach and enthusiastic learners seeking guidance. Recognizing the barriers to education, we crafted a user-friendly website(SkillConnect). This platform aggregates information on mentors offering teaching services and connects them with eager learners based on interests and location, aiming to democratize access to education and foster lifelong learning opportunities.

SUS HACKS was an amazing experience, fostering collaboration!

Overview of our SUS HACKS hackathon project. As we have a huge collection of books in our library database, it might be a time taking task for students to issue books according to their preferences. So our project- BookBriefs is a college library management portal through which students can issue books based on the reviews and ratings given by the trusted peers and faculty who have good grip of knowledge on the book. BooksBriefs is a college library portal features two distinct logins: one for librarians and another for students. Student logins remain active until the completion of their degree. The website offers a comprehensive catalog of books available in their respective college libraries. Students access the website using their registration numbers, from which their branch details and course information are retrieved from the student database. Upon logging in, students gain access to a wide array of available books for borrowing. These books are categorized into sections such as interview preparation, project records, competitive exam materials, and previous year papers. This platform allows students to conveniently browse available library resources from their classrooms. By perusing reviews provided by senior students and faculty, users can gauge the suitability of a particular book before visiting the library to borrow it. In instances where a desired book is unavailable, students can reserve it for future borrowing based on its availability status listed on the website. Upon returning borrowed books, students have the option to rate their experience, providing valuable feedback for future borrowers. This system ensures that incoming students can make informed decisions based on the reviews provided by their peers. It's important to note that this website serves as a book briefing platform and does not host full PDF versions of the books. Librarian logins are dedicated to managing the library's database, updating records, and overseeing student borrowing activities, including tracking book borrowing histories and imposing fines for late returns, if applicable.
